Christmas Decor in the Bedrooms

This is a great look if you want to add just a few subtle pieces of Christmas to your bedroom while keeping everything around it very neutral. The bedding is a mix of white and a creamy ivory color with just one small pillow in a pretty berry colour. The layered pillows add a bit of a luxurious feel to the bed while keeping it simple. This faux-flocked Christmas tree is the perfect tree for small spacesβ€”our bedroom isn’t very big, and there is still room for it in the corner.

For the dresser decor, I again kept it neutral with a pair of metal trees, a pretty winter art print, an oversized vase filled with faux greenery, and a flameless candle. Here you can see the vignette up close. I love the soft glow that this flameless candle gives to this corner of the room.

Alright, let’s move back to the bed. I love to add a faux garland to the top of a headboard during the holiday season when possible. For this one, I added battery-powered twinkle lights that come with a remote control, making it super easy to turn on and off. In previous years, I’ve also added plug-in lights to the garland above our bed, and you can, of course, leave it without lights as well. Adding a wintry art print above the bed is something that I almost always do when decorating for Christmas. This bedroom is proof that just a few simple holiday touches are really all you need to give your space a cosy Christmas vibe.

Alright, let’s move on to our guest bedroom for some more holiday inspiration. For this look, I wanted to add a bit of colour through the throw pillows, but not the colours you would traditionally think of for Christmas. I went with a pretty copper colour, black, and a neutral beige. Your colours don’t have to scream Christmas if you don’t want them to because subtle touches like greenery make your space immediately feel festive. Unlike the previous bedroom, I kept the rest of the room neutral.

I again added a garland to the headboard as well as a piece of winter artwork above the bed. A vase filled with faux greenery stems along with a trio of bottle brush trees is the perfect nightstand decor. On the opposite nightstand, I kept it simple with a table lamp and some ceramic trees. Again, this room is proof that just a few touches like greenery and artwork will immediately give your bedroom holiday vibes that you will enjoy every time you walk into it.

Let’s stay in our guest bedroom with another quick example of how you can style a bed for Christmas. For this look, I went with neutral yet textured pillows, and I love the cosy vibes that the faux fur pillow is giving to the bed. For the garland look, I added plug-in Christmas lights, which give the prettiest warm glow.

Holiday Inspiration for Your Entryway

Alright, my friends, moving on to some holiday inspiration for your entryway. For this look, I didn’t change out my artwork above the console table, but the look is still giving definite Christmas vibes. I added a faux tabletop tree to my oversized croc and opposite that, I styled a set of battery-powered taper candles in brass candle holders. In the middle of the table, I kept it simple with a set of brass bells elevated with a decorative book. If you want a simple statement piece for your home this holiday season, this 3-ft faux tabletop tree inside this oversized croc is the perfect solution.

Here’s another example of how you could style your entryway console table. For this look, I styled a mirror above the table and added a cute piece of Christmas artwork leaning against it. I then added an eclectic mix of candles, bells, and bottle brush trees.

And here’s the view opposite this tableβ€”you guys, wreaths aren’t just for exterior entryways. Add one to your interior closet door for a fun festive touch.

Alright, friends, it’s time to move on to some holiday dining room inspiration. Our dining nook is right off of our kitchen, and for this look, I added a kitchen runner in the same colour as our dining room pillows. Again, I added some winter artwork to the space, along with these adorable wreaths to the back of the chairs. For the centrepiece, I added a tabletop tree to a pot and a few battery-powered candles inside of these pretty candle holders. I have used these napkins for my holiday tables for several years nowβ€”they give the prettiest holiday vibes without being overly Christmassy.

Here’s another simple idea for a round table centrepiece. For this look, I added a few branches and faux evergreen stems to a tall vase along with two brass candle holders. I again added these glass votive candle holders that I filled with battery-powered candles. I love the elegant look of the candle holders against the rustic look of our dining table. By the way, the branches have tiny battery-powered LED lights in them, which I love.

Here’s a dining table look that I did a few years ago when we had a different table. This look is great for a rectangular table and works for Thanksgiving through Christmas. I started with a table runner down the centre and then topped that with a faux garland. I then added in different candle holders down the centre of the table. I mixed taper and pillar candle holders in brass, but you can do a mix of whatever you like.

These are real candles, but again, you could easily switch out the real ones for battery-powered ones, or vice versa. Here’s the same look but with a mix of taper and votive candle holders. This is such an easy way to decorate your tables for the holidaysβ€”you really can’t go wrong.

Alright, let’s move back to the kitchen and a few ways that you can add holiday touches to yours, no matter the size. First off, add an area rug in a festive colour. Secondly, add greenery. We don’t have a lot of surfaces in our kitchen to decorate, so I have to get creative. You could add a wreath to your cutting bar or greenery to your range hood. I added battery-powered twinkle lights to my garland, and look how adorable it is! If you have open shelves in your kitchen, they are a really fun spot to decorate for the holidays.

Here, I added a mini hot chocolate bar with a few mugs and cute canisters filled with hot cocoa mix and marshmallows. Of course, some winter artwork, faux stems, and cute decorative trees are always a good idea.

Alright, friends, it’s time to move on to my home office. Why not add a tree to your office if you have the space? I promise you, you will enjoy working in a festive office more than your regular office. This tree is a really great option if you don’t have a lot of room because it isn’t very wide. I also added a lit garland to my desk along with a few candles.

Let’s quickly talk about decorating open shelves. I have an entire wall of open shelves in my office, which obviously gives me a lot of space to decorate, but even if you have a small bookshelf, take the opportunity to decorate it for Christmas. You can add artwork, faux stems or flowers, bells, trees, candles, and even wreaths. Remember to vary the size and type of items from shelf to shelf.

Christmas in the Living Room

Alright, it’s time for the main event, my friends, and that means it’s time for Christmas in the living room! My living room is my very favourite room to decorate for Christmas (probably for obvious reasons). It has so many different spots that I can add decor to. Let’s start with the mantle: This first option is for you if you love the look of real cedar garland but you also want your holiday garland to last longer than a week. This is by far the most realistic garland that I’ve ever found.

For this look, I used command hooks on each side of the mantle as well as in the middle to hold everything in place. I added in ribbon on each side, which I think gives an extra special and elevated yet charming look. By the way, above this mantle is an oversized brass mirror.

For the next look, I went big with the garlandβ€”this is four 9-ft garlands, which I fastened together again with command hooks. I love the super fullness of this look and I also like the asymmetrical look of all of the stockings, bells, and ribbon on just one side of the fireplace. Again, adding in the special detail of the brass bells and ribbon just elevates the overall look. Above the fireplace, I hung this oversized Christmas tree artwork and kept the top of the mantle empty so as not to compete with the statement that is the garland.

For this next look, I used just one 9-ft garland and mixed in brass taper candle holders throughout. I hung brass bells along with our stockings for a simple yet pretty look. For both looks, I used battery-powered candles and again had this pretty arched mirror above.

Creating Coffee and Side Tables for the Holidays

Alright, friends, let’s move on to creating coffee and side tables for the holiday season. I most of the time keep my table decor to a minimum because we have a small living room with a lot already going on in it. Here are a couple of examples of different looks I’ve had over the years: a stack of holiday-inspired books topped with a Christmas candle, opposite a basket filled with fresh eucalyptus.

In here, I did another basket filled with books topped with cute bottle brush trees, a couple of candles, and another stack of books styled opposite the basket. And here’s a tipβ€”use books to elevate your decorative accessories, like you can see here with these cute trees.

Living Room Pillows and Textiles for Christmas

Regarding pillows and textiles, I have done everything from traditional reds and greens to neutrals to non-traditional colours and everything in between. For this look, I wanted a pretty winter white look, which I got by adding different textured pillows but keeping them all very neutral in colour. For this look, I went the non-traditional route with copper, blacks, and neutrals.

Main Living Room Tree

Lastly, I want to talk about our main living room tree. Even though the decor around it changes, my tree mostly stays the same year to year. This is the third year we have had this 9-ft slim tree, and I highly recommend it. As far as ornaments go, I do a mix of eclectic pieces that I’ve had for years, mixed in with traditional round ornaments of varying colours and textures. I may slightly tweak the colours throughout the tree depending on the year, but the overall look, which I would call traditional, stays mostly the same.
